Motors for rolling shutters

On rolling shutters with springs, the motor is placed in the center of the shaft. The shaft is stationary and the outer drum of the motor rotates by rotate the rolling shutter.

It should be mentioned that a motor comfortably raises a rolling shutter when the springs are in perfect condition and offset the weight. We may even have a motor for many pounds and lift a rolling shutter with broken springs and do not repair it. This is a mistake because the engine may slowly spoils and we have always the risk, then we do it manually, to dropped down if it does not have springs.

Springs are the heart of the rolling shutter and ensure the long life of the motor.

The motors consist of the drum, the main body, the motor and the electrically braking when it is present.

All central motors can be made manually operated at all times by using the ‘pike’ or ‘gun’ (in somfy motors).
